WNYA Television Lands Award Winning Local Personality PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, March 20, 2008
Award winning television and radio personality Dan Murphy has agreed to join WNYA Television My4Albany.  Murphy served as Anchor, Reporter and Sports Director at WTEN Television from 1989-2005 and was heard more recently on his radio program Murphy’s Law which ran through December 2007 on WOFX-AM.

Dan Murphy“I am extremely excited about joining the My4Albany Team.” said Murphy, “I always said that it would take a very special opportunity for me to return to local TV…well, this is it.  WNYA already has a solid line-up of shows and some great programs in the works. I’m thrilled to be a part of what’s going on there.”

Murphy will wear many hats at WNYA, including producing and hosting sports and entertainment programming.

“As we grow WNYA, local programming is the next logical step, “ said Duncan Brown, WNYA General Manager, “And I’m very pleased to be able to bring in someone with so much experience in the Capital Region.”

This is just the latest good news for WNYA television that, earlier this year, was awarded the broadcast rights for the New York Yankees and more recently learned that My Network Television won the rights to broadcast WWE Smackdown beginning this fall.
